An Indiana mother and her three daughters were found dead in what seems to be a murder-suicide.

The bodies of 32-year-old Rebecca Hughes and her three children, Evelyn (8), Allison (6), and Amelia (5), were discovered during a welfare check.

According to the Indiana State Police, on September 17, 2024, around 11:20 a.m., Wolcottville police officers were sent to a home on South Main Street for a welfare check. There, they found the mother and three children dead. The Indiana State Police was then called to investigate.

They also mentioned that there is no danger to the public.

The exact cause of death is still unknown.

The children’s father, Jonathan Newell, has created a GoFundMe page to help cover the funeral expenses.

In a recent update, the heartbroken father thanked everyone who donated, saying he was grateful and that his three beloved daughters have been laid to rest.

We are deeply sorry for this tragic loss.
