Director Enters Corporate Office And Orders Around An Unsuspecting Stranger

  • 4 min read

A Sudden Arrival in the Marble Lobby

A woman in an all-crimson suit pushed through the glass revolving doors and pointed a manicured finger toward a man holding a paper cup.

She tilted her dark sunglasses down the bridge of her nose and demanded to know where the person in charge was standing.

The man in the tailored black suit took a slow sip of his coffee without blinking. He lowered the cup, rested his elbow casually against the edge of the front desk, and asked if she was planning to sell something or file a complaint.

She lifted her chin, whipped off her sunglasses, and announced that she was the new executive director. When he calmly offered a congratulation and asked whether staff should clap or if she was still on probation, her neck muscles tightened.

She jabbed her index finger toward the lobby floor and rattled off a beverage order: two sugars, oat milk, quick. The man simply smiled, leaning further against the mahogany counter.

Laying Down Demands Across the Open Floor

She pivoted on her black heels and marched past the reception desk directly into the central workspace. Every employee seated at their terminal snapped their heads up as her heels clicked against the polished tiles.

She swept her arms wide, announcing an immediate ban on workplace banter, laughter, and personal phones. She insisted that idle time was cutting directly into company revenue.

The young man strolled along behind her, still holding his paper cup, watching every movement with a relaxed tilt of his head. He asked playfully if happiness was about to be barred from the premises too.

Her face flushed as she turned on an assistant clutching a black folder behind her. She threatened immediate termination for anyone who dared to show amusement during business hours.

The assistant swallowed, clutching the clipboard tighter against his ribs while looking nervously toward the quiet man leaning against the doorway. With a sharp flick of her wrist, she declared that the entire team was fired on the spot.

The Folder on the Boardroom Counter

Turning back to the reception area, she slammed her leather handbag onto the counter and demanded the brass keys to the corner suite. She specified that she would only accept the largest executive suite that included a private washroom.

The young man stepped beside her, gesturing toward the desk and remarking on whether the workplace had become a luxury hotel. She glared sideways, muttering that she deserved only the finest accommodations.

The assistant hurried over, frantically turning over thin white pages pinned to a wooden board. His fingers shook slightly as he skimmed through the lines of text printed across the contract.

He cleared his throat, raised his eyes hesitantly, and stammered that a minor complication had emerged regarding her paperwork. He stated quietly that her official onboarding had never actually received senior clearance.

Her jaw dropped, her mouth opening in shock as she demanded an explanation for why her arrival remained unauthorized. The young man stood in the background, a subtle grin spreading across his face as he observed the paper trail unfold.

An Unveiling at the Long Conference Table

Minutes later, the glass doors of the top-floor conference room slid open to reveal senior directors lined up in dark suits. As the crimson-clad woman stepped into the room, every seated executive pushed their chairs back and rose to their feet.

She surveyed the room with confusion, whispering to ask why the entire board was showing deference to the young man who had followed her upstairs. A senior executive stepped forward and introduced Jax Bennett, the chief executive officer and sole owner of the enterprise.

The color drained from her cheeks as Jax stepped into the open floor, his posture completely composed and still. She protested that he should have stated his identity, but Jax countered that she had never paused to ask before barking orders.

He walked slowly to the head of the polished glass table and took his seat, opening a black file binder in front of him. He methodically reviewed the morning events: threats to dismiss a dozen staff members, disrespect toward the reception crew, and an attempt to dismiss the individual who signed the payroll checks.

Jax signaled for security to show her to the street, noting that her status had just been altered to an unemployed director. She threw her head back, let out a piercing scream of outrage, and stomped toward the elevator as the conference room doors closed behind her.
