Officer Blames Motorcyclist On Empty Highway Then A Witness Stops

  • 3 min read

A Hard Stand On The Center Line

The rider plant his boots firmly into the asphalt right next to his downed motorcycle, staring straight into the eyes of the state trooper. Both vehicles sat crooked across the yellow markings, the patrol car’s front bumper hovering uncomfortably close to the wreckage.

The trooper pushed his cruiser door open, stepped out onto the open road, and immediately shook his head. He claimed the motorcycle had crossed into oncoming traffic, entirely brushing off the rider’s protest.

With a stern voice, the officer began writing up citations for reckless driving, unsafe passing, and failure to yield. The motorcyclist, dressed in an army tactical jacket, refused to put his pen to the paper and demanded a supervisor be called to the scene.

A Trucker Breaks The Pattern

The officer reached for his cuffs and ordered the motorcyclist to turn around. Before metal could click against wrists, heavy footsteps crunched on the gravel shoulder behind them.

A semi-truck driver wearing a dark cap and work boots walked directly toward the two men, pointing down at the highway. He told the trooper to look at the fresh black tire marks burned deep into the pavement before taking anyone into custody.

The thick black streaks curved dramatically from the officer’s lane straight over the double yellow line. The trooper looked at the pavement, dismissed the tire friction as irrelevant, and demanded the truck driver return to his cab.

The Lens That Changes Everything

The truck driver stood his ground and tapped his chest pocket. He stated clearly that his cab was equipped with an active dashcam that recorded every single angle of the initial collision.

A minute later, a supervisor pulled up to the rural roadside in an SUV cruiser, gravel kicking beneath his tires. The truck driver stepped forward with a small screen in his hand, pressing play for the arriving sergeant.

The sergeant tilted his head, watching the trooper’s cruiser cut entirely across oncoming lanes on the screen. He turned to his subordinate, stripped him of his citation pad, and asked for his keys on the spot.

A Seat In The Cab

The stranded motorcyclist knelt down to pick up his battered riding helmet from the shoulder. His bike was thoroughly wrecked, its front suspension twisted out of alignment and unfit to roll an inch further.

The truck driver walked over, resting a hand on the open door of his big blue rig, and asked where the soldier was trying to go. The soldier mentioned his destination base out east, looking down at his damaged gear.

The semi driver nodded toward the passenger side of the cab, pulled the door handle, and climbed up behind the steering wheel as the soldier walked around to join him.
