A Cold Greeting On The Showroom Floor
The man in the tailored grey overcoat walked past the polished showroom floor, trailing his hand along the sleek black fender of a luxury SUV. His strides were measured and calm as he paused near the driver’s door to inspect the finish.
Behind him, a salesman in a navy suit stepped into view, his hands resting on his hips. A mocking grin spread across the salesman’s face as he tilted his head toward the visitor.
“You really think you can afford that car?” the salesman called out across the floor, stepping forward to block the vehicle.
Tension Builds Beside The Luxury SUV
The customer did not flinch or raise his voice. He kept one hand resting lightly on the black paint.
“I’m just here to buy a car,” he replied evenly, turning his eyes toward the salesman.
The salesman crossed his arms, his posture stiffening as other staff members watched from nearby desks. He stepped closer, narrowing the gap between them until he was standing inches away.
“People like you come in here just to waste our time,” the salesman snapped, gesticulating with both hands. “Leave before you get embarrassed. Just leave.”
The customer stood tall in his black turtleneck and coat, holding his ground. “Don’t judge by skin color,” he answered quietly.
An Unexpected Arrival Changes Everything
A second man in a dark tailored suit and tie hurried across the showroom tiles, stepping directly between the two men. “What’s going on here?” the dealership manager asked, glancing between them.
The salesman smirked and gestured dismissively toward the customer. “He can’t afford this vehicle. I was about to send him out.”
Without saying a word, the customer reached inside his grey coat. He pulled out a folded document and placed it into the manager’s hands.
The manager unfolded the paper, his eyes scanning the name printed across the top. The stern look on his face dropped instantly.
“Wait… you’re Mr. Johnson?” the manager gasped, his eyes widening. He extended his right hand with a bright, welcoming smile. “Sir, welcome back! You bought ten vehicles!”
The Final Exit
The customer firmly shook the manager’s hand, his expression calm and steady while the first salesman stood completely still behind them, mouth open in disbelief.
“I came to buy today,” Mr. Johnson stated, pulling his hand back and looking toward the entrance. “I’ll take my business elsewhere.”
He turned on his heel and walked toward the glass doors. The manager immediately spun around to face his staff member, extending his arm and pointing an index finger straight toward the exit.
“You are done for today,” the manager commanded firmly. “Please leave.”
The salesman stood frozen on the white tile, staring ahead with his jaw hanging open as the manager walked away.
