Suit Confronts Quiet Elderly Man Before Checking The Account Terminal Screen

  • 2 min read

Turned Away At The Entrance

The polished leather shoe stepped forward across the marble floor as the suited employee extended a stiff arm toward the older man’s chest.

The visitor stood in a worn brown jacket, his knuckles calloused and his posture still.

“Sir, you’re done here,” the employee said, his palm turned outward to block any further entry into the lobby.

The older man did not step back.

“I came for help,” he replied, keeping his voice steady.

“You can’t afford this,” the employee answered, pointing a single finger directly at the man’s chest.

The Screen On The Counter

The employee stepped in closer, resting a heavy hand on the man’s shoulder to force him toward the exit doors.

“You’re making assumptions,” the older man said, his eyes fixed on the younger man’s face.

“Leave. Now.”

“You may regret that,” the visitor murmured quietly.

The employee motioned toward the reception desk, his jaw set as he demanded that security be called to clear the area.

The older man pointed a single finger toward the monitor sitting on the dark wood counter.

“Check the screen,” he said.

The employee turned his head toward the glowing terminal, where an identity profile loaded across the display.

The bold lettering under the photo read Thomas Reed, Founding Chairman and Controlling Owner.

A Sudden Shift In Posture

A second senior executive walked quickly into the reception area, placing a firm hand on the younger employee’s shoulder.

“He owns this bank,” the executive stated quietly.

The first employee’s arm dropped limp to his side.

His shoulders pulled inward, and his gaze shifted downward toward the polished tile.

“Now we can talk,” Thomas Reed said, taking half a step forward into the open floor.

“Mr. Reed, I apologize,” the employee whispered, his chin tucked down against his collar.

Thomas Reed lifted his chin, his eyes locking onto the employee standing before him.

“Look at me,” Thomas Reed said.

The employee raised his eyes to meet the older man’s gaze as the three men stood motionless under the bright lobby lights.
