An Urgent Phone Call
A woman sat at her kitchen counter with long braided hair, pressing a glass of red wine to her lips while balancing a smartphone against her shoulder.
She spoke into the phone with an irritated tone, telling the father on the line that he needed to bring food for his son immediately.
The man replied through the speaker, reminding her that he had handed her a hundred dollars cash just two days prior.
She rolled her eyes, taking another sip from her wine glass before telling him that money did not last forever in a large household.
A Delivery At The Door
A short time later, the front door opened and the man stepped inside wearing a dark polo shirt and carrying a brown paper fast-food bag.
She took the paper bag from his hands and opened it wide to inspect the contents inside.
Two burgers and a single box of French fries sat at the bottom of the brown bag.
Her eyebrows furrowed as she looked up from the bag, questioning how that small portion was going to feed everyone in her home.
She pointed out that she had five children to feed and expected enough food for the entire house.
Escalating Arguments Over Responsibility
The man stood firm near the doorway, gesturing toward the bag with both hands.
He explained that the food was purchased specifically for his five-year-old son, which was plenty for a child that age.
He added that he did not have extra funds to buy meals for four other children who were not his biological offspring.
She stepped closer, waving her arm frantically while demanding to know what her other kids were supposed to eat for dinner.
He shook his head and told her to contact the biological fathers of her other children to ask them for financial help.
She threatened to pursue formal child support in court if he refused to help support her full home.
His expression tightened as he reminded her that he was the only father who consistently provided money and food for his child.
He pointed out that he frequently gave her extra cash to help her out, while the other fathers contributed nothing.
A Heated Exit On The Front Porch
Frustrated by the ongoing dispute, the man turned on his heel and headed toward the front exit of the home.
He stated clearly that he was leaving because he refused to waste his afternoon arguing over the same issue.
She followed him outside onto the front porch, shouting loudly as he walked down the steps toward the driveway.
She raised the McDonald’s bag above her head and tossed it directly toward him onto the ground.
The brown bag landed on the porch steps near his feet while he turned back around to address her from the lawn.
He pointed his index finger at her, shouting that she had a serious problem before turning away again.
She remained standing at the top of the porch entryway with both hands planted firmly on her hips, staring down at him as he walked toward his car.
