Shabbily Dressed Man Refuses To Leave Bank Lobby With Documents

  • 3 min read

A Sudden Confrontation by the Entrance

The man in the navy suit gripped the shoulder of the weathered overcoat and shoved the visitor toward the glass doors.

His fingers dug into the rough, fraying fabric as his voice echoed across the marble floor, demanding an immediate exit.

The older man did not stumble backward or hurry toward the street outside.

Instead, he held a thick, worn leather binder tight against his chest with both hands and stood firmly on the polished tiles.

Small tear marks dotted the dark fabric of his long coat, revealing years of wear against the elements.

His hair was thin and disheveled, contrasting sharply with the tailored three-piece suit standing just inches from his face.

“Don’t put your hands on me,” the older man said, his voice level and steady.

The younger man stepped closer, raised his right arm, and pointed an index finger straight at the street outside.

Standing Ground Against Demands

“You’re leaving now,” the employee barked, his face tightening as he leaned into the older man’s space.

The older man barely blinked, holding his position right in front of the teller counter.

“You’ll regret this,” he answered quietly, keeping the brown binder pressed securely against his torso.

The employee snorted, stepping forward to close whatever space remained between them.

“I don’t care who you think you are,” the suited worker muttered, his eyes narrowing as he scanned the worn clothing in front of him.

“You should care,” came the calm, measured reply.

The employee reached out again, his hand darting toward the binder tucked beneath the stranger’s arm.

“What are you hiding?” the worker demanded, trying to pull the leather folder free.

The older man quickly swung his arms behind his back, securing the documents completely out of reach.

“Something you won’t believe,” he replied, standing upright despite the tattered hem of his dark coat.

The Branch Manager Arrives

Losing his patience, the suited employee turned his head toward the back offices and shouted loudly across the room.

“Manager!” he yelled, waving an arm to summon assistance from the desks behind the partition.

A man in a grey blazer and open-collared shirt walked briskly across the lobby floor to see what caused the commotion.

“What’s happening here?” the manager asked, stepping between the two men near the entrance.

The suited employee pointed aggressively at the visitor standing by the counter.

“He refuses to leave,” the employee said, his chest heaving as he sought immediate backup.

The manager paused and turned toward the older man, studying the leather binder resting quietly in his grip.

“Sir, what’s in the folder?” the manager asked, keeping his tone measured.

“Proof of what you forgot,” the older man replied, unhooking the strap and lifting the heavy cover open.

Inspecting the Parchment

The suited worker watched impatiently as the older man’s fingers turned the aged page.

He reached inside the compartment and carefully pulled out a large, formal paper document embossed with an official seal.

The manager stepped forward and placed a hand gently on the younger employee’s chest, physically holding him back.

“He owns this bank,” the manager said quietly, his eyes locked on the paperwork.

The younger employee’s mouth fell slightly open, his hand dropping slowly to his side as the color drained from his face.

The older man lifted the official certificate into full view between both hands, looking straight into the stunned employee’s eyes.
