Two women stepped past a small lunch table, twisting their faces in disgust as they sneered at an elderly janitor sitting alone.
Mr. Harold kept his head down, clutching his plastic meal container while the women snickered nearby. They covered their noses and made loud remarks about his presence in the break room.

The same colleague approached him in the corridor, her hands resting on his arm as she asked about his health. Mr. Harold admitted he had been feeling unwell and struggling through severe physical difficulties.
