A Desperate Chase on the Highway
The golden retriever sprinted along the asphalt, keeping his eyes locked on the white truck ahead.
On the back of the truck, strapped tightly against towering bales of hay, a dark foal struggled against its ropes.
The small horse’s legs dangled in the air as the heavy vehicle rolled down the two-lane road.

Flagging Down the Driver
The dog surged forward, pulling himself level with the truck’s passenger side cabin.
He leaped slightly, barking directly toward the window to catch the driver’s attention.

Seeing the dog running alongside his front wheel, the driver pressed his foot on the brake pedal.

The driver opened his cab door, stepped down onto the road, and walked toward the back of the trailer.
The Rescue At The Tailgate
The man walked to the rear of the truck and immediately saw the foal suspended against the dry hay.
He reached his hands upward toward the ropes holding the young animal in place.
Stepping onto the metal bumper, the driver hauled himself up the side of the straw stack.
He worked with his fingers to loosen the thick white cords wrapped around the foal’s torso.
The dog stood directly below, looking up and shifting his paws back and forth on the road.
With a firm pull, the driver freed the harness, allowing the foal to slide safely down the straw.
The little horse landed on its feet, shaking its head and taking its first steps on the solid ground.
Safe on Solid Ground
The foal trotted a few feet away from the truck, its thin legs moving unsteadily.
The dog immediately trotted over to the foal, sniffing its face and nudging its chest gently.
The driver climbed down from the truck bed and walked over to join them on the pavement.
He knelt slightly and wrapped his arms around the foal’s neck, pulling the young animal into a tight embrace.
