An Emergency On The Farm
A German Shepherd stood on the green grass, his eyes fixed on the orange flames erupting from the wooden roof of the barn.
Thick black smoke billowed from the cedar shingles, rising into the bright afternoon sky as the fire spread across the dry wood.

They arrived back at the barn just as the flames began to consume the entire upper wooden roof structure.
The sheep inside were crowding the doorway, their soft woolly bodies pressing against the closed barrier as the heat intensified.
The man reached the wooden latch, lifted it quickly, and swung the heavy door wide open to clear the path.
A stream of white sheep rushed out of the dark, smoky doorway, stumbling over one another in their haste to reach the clean air.
They fanned out across the open grass, bleating softly as they ran away from the burning building.
