The Dismissive Glances
The shine of the black Porsche in the showroom was matched only by the smug confidence of the two salesmen standing near it. When an older man dressed in a simple denim jacket walked in, the pair immediately shared a condescending look. As the man ran a hand along the sleek hood, one salesman leaned over to his colleague and whispered, loud enough to be heard, that the customer likely could not even afford the floor mats.
The Cold Shoulder
The interaction didn’t improve from there. When the man politely stated he would like to speak with someone about purchasing a car, the salesman treated him like a nuisance rather than a client. He gestured dismissively toward the exit, telling the man that a used car lot down the road might be better suited for his speed. The arrogance was palpable, a wall erected between the luxury brand and the man who stood before them.
The Ultimate Power Move
Undeterred, the man stepped forward and placed a premium credit card onto the glass desk. He looked at the black Porsche and asked, quite calmly, how much it cost. The salesman froze, his condescending smirk instantly replaced by a look of confusion. Before the salesman could sputter out an apology or attempt to scramble for the sale, the man picked his card back up. He delivered a parting line that cut deeper than any insult, declaring that he would rather spend his money at a dealership that valued people over clothes, and then he simply walked away.
